Snapper RER exhaust pipe muffler options

I bought a used Briggs 12hp engine (281707-0415-01) without muffler and exhaust that came of a Murray. I'm trying to figure out which exhaust pipe and muffler is going to fit because the ones shown in the parts manual for the engine don't look like good options with the exhaust port facing the direction it does on a Snapper. You can't tell in the photos but the exhaust port is actually threaded but the previous Murray looks like it used a gasket and a pipe with a flange. Any opinions?

Those are standard pipe threads, so you could use close nipples and elbows to get it pointed in the right direction.
If you're handy with a welder and can scrounge up an old bent frame chain link gate, you can piece together a custom layout from the corners.

Just don't use galvanized pipe, it puts off bad ugly fumes when it's hot that ain't good for your lungs.

if i recall correctly you use a 3/4" street 90 (or maybe its 1") then a 4" nipple to bring it out to clear the mower body. then go buy a threaded round generic mufflers for $10 that screw right onto it and use a 3/4" electrical box nut to lock it in place

or you can just buy the oem muffler for it https://www.ebay.com/itm/35-050-Ore...493497&hash=item2ef8479c1e:g:faQAAOSwcUBYPyns

What kind of high performance coating is on the carb and tires? Well the entire mower actually? Is that the new bedliner junk people are spraying their cars down with?
