Thinking of selling my older Scag Turd Tiger and fet something new. Saw a S125xt with fx series Kawasaki engine at local dealership and was fairly impressed with it. I'm looking for some input on this model. I think I'm going to go back to the dealer and see if I can try one out; never been on a Snapper Pro before. Price is pretty nice, $5495 but cash talks at this dealership so could probably get it a little cheaper than that even. Also looking at a slightly used Hustler Z4 with same series engine and 100 hrs on the meter but not coning up with a whole lot of info on them.

The s125xt is a new model for snapper pro similar to the is700 ferris. Haven't seen one with the fx series Kawi only the fs. The main difference in the s125xt and the s150xt is the 125 has zt3400 pumps and the 150 has zt5400 pumps. I have a 2012 s150xt with a 48" deck and a 20 hp Kawi fx series engine. Very we'll built mower. Gave just under 6000 for mine. Has plenty of power and a simple heavy built design. No other brand I have found that has the same engine transmission combination even comes close to the price. There are other brands out there I like, but they were a little out of my price range. I mow a little over 4 acres with mine and I have some hills and a low area where the grass grows very fast. Handles my lawn with ease.

I do also like the hustler line of zero turn mowers. The only one I have experience with is the one x. A friend has one. It is a well built machine also. His has the flex fork option. Supposed to help with the ride of the mower and help the deck stay on uneven ground. It is a 60" with an fs series Kawi engine with zt3400 pumps. Hustlers are the fastest zero turns I have seen, but I went with the snapper pro because I got the high end commercial fx series engine and the high end commercial zt5400 pumps. Only thing I wish I had done different was get with the 52" deck instead of the 48". Could have gotten one for a little over $500 more. Not a huge deal because I can still mow my lawn in 2.5 hours. The one x will cost a little over $8000 new around here.

You are right Shughes, it has the fs series engine, not fx. I would like to have the 150, but really prefer the 61" deck so settling on the 125. They have a new one at the local dealership that I'm going to go try out after work. I like the deck design on it better than the Hustler Z4 that I'm looking at. Also the Hustler is used, but only has 100 hrs on it. I asked the dealership about the 2 when I called (they are dealer for both). Talked to a guy in service dept that I kinda know and he said I'd be better off with the used Hustler. I'm still torn.

Does the z4 have the flex forks? If it does and it has the fx series engine with a canister filter then it may be a better buy if they offer any warranty with it. It is a higher end mower than the s125xt.

the z 4 has not been made in a few years and would obviously have no warranty......for similar price i would always take the warranty......either one will do the job but one comes with warranty

I got the guy to come down a little more on price on the Hustler, so went ahead and bought it. I tried out the Snapper and I didn't really care for how it operated. I'm sure I probably would have gotten used to it though and will probably regret not buying the new mower with a warranty. I was surprised when the guy from the dealership told me to buy the used one over a new Snapper from them, but then again he could be expexting me to bring the Hustler there for all service work haha.
