Has any one used this? How did you install this? Glue? Just grind off the old? How does it hold up?

That appears to be the drive ring for a self-propelled walk mower, which is easily replaceable.

Download your mower manual. Download your mower parts schematic. Read them both. For a push mower or rider, they just slide over on the drive hub where the old one was. Have to remove 5 screws first. Very simple and ultra reliable drive system.
