Small engine repair shop management software

Hi,

One of my friends runs a small engine repair shop, and he wants to maintain its repair shop process with POS software. Some have given him suggestions about software like RepairDesk, RepairShopr, and RepairQ. Can you please suggest which one is best for a repair shop?
 
Check out Adminsoft Accounts with its Auto Manager. It is what I have using since 2013. Other than one major problem back in 2021 which was quickly resolve it has been excellent software. Definitely makes running a one man operation a lot easier. The software is virus free even though some antivirus software like Windows reports false positives.

Its free try and to use; unless, you want get past some of the ads. I think they would be surprised what it can do and it does have some very good support. Mike does an excellent job of programming. With the US getting rid of the penny he just added cash rounding so we can round to nearest next denomination of our choosing. Barcodes support was added last year so you can scan barcode for entering items into an order without having to type everything.

It is very nice for it keep records of the customer equipment repairs as long as you input the data. Has even help a customer with reporting the theft is mower as I had the equipment make, model, and serial numbers for the police report as he didn't have them.

One thing I highly recommend is backing up the software offsite daily so if you have a system crash you can recover your work quickly and lose only a day's work.

Tnx, I corrected the post. It is a bad habit about
thinking faster than I type. But though I thought I had proof read that one.

Actually you might lose a few days getting all the software and data reinstall. My recent crash took over a day to get most of it back up and running. Still got some files to recover once I get another monitor. Just got the blue tooth part up and running last night. The USB module fell apart as I was trying to transfer it.

And yes I personally quickly recovered from all the cussing.

I’ve been using the visualizer a lot, and the workflow gets even smoother once SolidWorks is seamlessly integrated into your setup. The auto-matching and quick BOM updates save me a bunch of back-and-forth, especially on projects with tons of variants. It’s also nice that the tool plays well with different model formats, so the whole team can jump in without stressing about conversions.

How to do keep records of the customer equipment repairs?

Each records will keep as much info you enter for up to 10 years depending on the software settings.

Here is four pages of one repair from 2019. Note some pages are clipped.

Note I don't always enter a test date.

And this software does a lot more than this like inventory control, other invoicing, purchase orders, etc. Now parts are required to have an inventory entry if they are entered in the service counter.
