Hey there!
This is a great web site.
I have a Broadmoor that scrapped a tree root, didnot bend the blade, stopped running.
The mower will run. When I engage the PTO, the mower stops.
Anyone have suggestions?

It sounds like the timing is out. Check the flywheel key and see if it is sheared.

Oh, and :welcome:

Thanks for the reply,
The mower runs great!
When I engage the pto to run the mower deck, the motor stops.
With the motor not running, the blads of the deck move freely.
Do I need to replace the PTO?
Does the PTO have a fuze?

It is possible that it runs fine on idle but when you put a load on it the sheared key twists and puts the timing out.

You have a safety switch problam, You may have a bent switch lever or a loose wire some place. Without a wiring diagram I really don't know where to tell you where to look. It really doesn't sound like a fuse or PTO problem

Thanks,

I have the Broadmoor "Service & repair manual and Parts manual"

The "bent switch lever" do you mean the "PTO Electric Cluch switch"

I will check the connections on the Interlock Module and the PTO switch.

Thanks

The mower runs fine as long as I donot engage the PTO.

Like I said I would need a wiring diagram to know. seeing that the engine turns off with the PTO switch I would guess that is not the switch giving the problem. I would say it ties in with other switches. Maybe something more like a seat switch or reverse cut out switch?? I would say start out with a wiring diagram and volt meter. Now to turn the engine off it is done with a negative circuit. So you will want to work with the negative circuit side not positive. I don't know your electrical skills so the best of luck with this.

Thanks for the response,

You are probley right about the wiring.

Looking forward to finding the problem. Hope to solve before spring.

Here in KY a wheel horse has a lot of respect.
