i have a john deere lx279 ride on
i have changed the 2 head gaskets and all other gaskets to that go with changing the heads i have placed new oil and oil filter as well as fuel filter new spark plugs
so when i went to start i could only get it to run if i sprayed ethanol down the carburetor it was running previously
so where do i go next ?

Check for vacuum leaks. Has it got a fuel shutoff solenoid on the bottom of the carburetor? Are you getting fuel to the carburetor? Did you remove the carb and disturb dirt in it and now its plugged? It has to be a fuel or air delivery problem see how you spray fuel in it and it runs.
