I have a B&S 09P702-0124-F1 that I received with the governor/slinger damaged and in pieces.
I got new parts and was getting ready to button it up when I noticed that the crankcase cover might be
missing a piece. My question is this: is there some kind of guide in the cover that is supposed to
hold the tab on the governor/slinger? I've circled the tab and the area I'm talking about in the pictures.
thanks

Looks likeNothing is missing to me. It's held in place by the sump going on.

Coorect just looked the oil in the spare parts here. The yellow line indicates where the oil slinger/governor sits in the sump and second section indicated the edges sits in the oil simp. The raised area you circled is just the rest for the assembly tab you circled to make it sits parallel.

Thanks so much. Now I can put it together without worrying that the new slinger is going to fly apart.
(part was cheap but it took forever get one shipped)
