my seat on my lawn tractor is coming apart. john deere wants more for the seat than i paid for the whole mower. i am going to have to take the seat off and bring it inside where it is warm to try to recover the seat. what a pain. the mower was maide in 1980 you would think the seat would last longer than 40 yrs . how cheap. ha ha.

There are a few sites on the web that have after market seats..... Or you could go to your local ulpostery shop and have them refit your old one .....
A lot cheaper than the other options ..........

Might try here ..... They're closed until Jan 2 for the Holidays though.
I fit boat seats.
Down here I can get good ones for $ 40 ( monopoly money ) where as a genuine mower seat is well over $ 100.
IT all depends upon how the seat switch works or if you want to have a working seat switch.
