Scag wildcat wont stay running

Hey guys. Been a while but this old scag has me stumped this time. The other day the wife was mowing and the ignition wire fell off the starter. I put the wire back on and now the motor starts but shuts off immediately. I replaced the ignition switch but that didnt change anything. I can hear the fuel solenoid click in the run position. What would be the next thing to check? Thanks in advance.

lets start with the Kohler engine model number, so we'll know engine you have.. Not sure what you mean by ignition wire, the big red cable from the solenoid to the starter? are there any melted or burnt spots on it?

Thanks. Its the 27hp kohler part number 482900. Its not the big red cable. Its a jumper wire coming from the wiring harness to the starter. Its worked fine like that for years. Ill get some pictures tomorrow to show you guys. I believe its something electrical. Starts up then dies immediately.
