I posted the question some time back about my 27 hp kohler would run for about an hour and kill. I checked everything that everyone said to look for but nothing worked. I also seen someone else had the same problem and as far as I seen he has not found a cure. Well this is what mine was doing. After about an hour of cutting it would start running bad, backfiring, slowing down and would kill. I found if I would turn off the PTO and choke it a little it would kind of run better. After trying different things for a week or so this is what I found. It would run fine as long as there was no load on the motor. With a load after about an hour or less it would act up. The cure. I pulled the fuel line off from the fuel pump to the fuel tank shut off valve. when I opened the shutoff valve there was grass blocking the outlet of the valve, poor fuel flow. I drained the tank and cleaned out some more cut grass from the inside of the tank, replaced all fuel lines and new fuel filter. This last weekend I was able to cut my two acres with no problems at all. It ran great. Before the fix, it was getting just enough gas to keep it running without a load. With the PTO engaged and the engine calling for more fuel it was running dry. I know this is kind of long but if it helps some then I guess it was worth it. Thanks to all for all of the advise and help you all add to this forum.
