my scag was low in oil and I noticed that it would only run on the choke position. I added oil in the hydraulic oil reservoir and in the engine oil reservoir to the full position. I tried to run it again and it still only runs in the choke position. it also turns off after a little bit. Then it started blowing a lot of white smoke out of the exhaust. What is going on?

How long do you think the engine ran low on oil ????? Do you see a oil leak anywhere around the engine ??? How low was the hydro oil ???
Your carb needs a good clean more than likely since it's running on choke only..... What engine do you have and the model numbers would help a lot.....
Where are you at in Texas ???? I have a good friend that works on Scags in Lake Charles... He used to own the dealership there......
