I mow several areas the biggest about 2 acres . I have a year old JD 240 sport that cuts ok , not bashing it but really want a zero turn and under 5,000 . JD Z 535 is 3,999 the scag 4,400 . Scag dealer 55 miles away , JD 12 miles . Scag has a fabricated deck 25 hp Kohler , JD 25 HP B&S , JD does have a 4 year bumper to bumper Scag feels like it holds the ground better but has 20 inch rear tires , JD 22 inch ..Scag to me looks like its built like a tank , any advice would be appreciated

Scag's are built like a tank, they are a very good mower.
I'm shopping the same mowers. Scag has a 5 year warranty vs Deere's 4 year. Scag has ZT2800 drives that are serviceable. Deere's are sealed. I cross the Deere of my list due to the non-serviceable drives.
Thanks Boylerman , taking Deere off my list also and will pick Scag Liberty or Patriot if I can't find a good used Tiger cat soon

If you are going to use it commercially Scag only has a two year warranty.
If you are going to buy one go with a Tiger Cat. It has the velocity deck which the cheaper models don't. It will last you for many years with nothing more than routine maintenance.
