I have a Scag Liberyy with a Kohler KT735 motor. I was mowing with it and blades quit turning, I shut mower off then would not restart. What I found was ground wire running from solenoid ground to engine ground melted. Cut open harness and ground is only melted wire. Any ideas of cause?

Not secured properly. I use tie straps to secure any wiring that is chafing engine or associated parts. Looks like ground wire may have chafed into positive or hot wire. Make sure all wiring is tight & secured by trying to move connections by hand.

Sorry first time posting. It's 735. Ground wire connections are tight. I was thinking charging issues being pto shutting off. I haven't checked battery voltage tomorrow.
