Scag Freedom Z & looking for a mower lift

I test drove over 8 different brands and Saturday morning I did purchase the Freedom Z. I know I will be very happy with it, I pick it up tomorrow afternoon, looking forward to mowing with it. Now I'm looking for a mower lift/jack changing blades etc.. Any suggestions "Pro Lift", "MoJack"? Are there any others out there worth considering?

Thanks TigerCat, that's a nice trick all four wheels off the ground. If that will lift a Tiger Cat it will surly lift the Freedom Z w/48" deck. Thanks again.

The only bad thing is that the unit doesn't fold up, so it does take up floor space. I tuck my unit under the bench against the corner of the wall. So it's not in my way.

We have one of the lifts that you get at Harbor Freight. It does great. However we change blades on our Tiger Cat every day with a small floor jack.

Just put it under the front of the deck and raise it up. Use a cordless impact on top. It will take less than 10 minutes to chane a set.

I haven't found a way that I like yet. Initially used a Hi-Lift jack in the center of the front edge of the deck to lift and then set on a pair is jack stands for secuity. Then I tried a lift in the front which certainly elevated her quickly and effortlessly but in the end neither of these inspired confidence and the both blocked the center front. Now I'm using a pair of metal car ramps on the front wheels and rubber chocks at each rear. Its tall enough for me to get underneath and get a backup on the head of the spindle bolt. Once the socket and breakover bar are in place I just place a section of 4"x4" block underneath to keep it in place while I use another above to break each spindle nut loose. Once loose they unscrew easily by hand and drop the bolt, blade and spacer nicely in my hand.

I'm mowing in more of a pasture setting than a yard setting and my blades haven't held up to my satisfaction. Currently trying some of the Gators out. I tried some OEM replacements that didn't hold up near as well as the ones it came with. So far all of them leave me finishing mowing looking more like a coal miner than I like. :)

Thanks I have been thinking of that also. Haven't been able to check it out because my son barrowed mine. So thank you, sounds as if I could get by a lot cheaper than $250-$400. Haven't had to do anything but air clean so far only 7.4 hours. I will keep that in mind though.

That is how I do the "quickies" on commercial ZTR's
Mine are truck ramps which have a flat surface rather than the metal slats and are 14" high.
That extra 6" makes the world of difference as far as getting the air tools in underneath.
Once at the end stop the front is high enough to allow the ramps to be swung out of the way of the centre spindle bolt.
This is made easier by sitting the ramps on upside down carpet on the shop floor but have done exactly tha same thing outside on the grass hundreds of times as when a commercial comes in it is down tools and on to them.
Just remember to turn the castor wheels around before you drive back off. It is a lot easier than you might think as 90% of the weight will be on the back wheels.

You can get by a lot cheaper than $250. Buy the Mojack EZ it has a 300lb lift capacity, it will get your mower up to 24 inches and give you plenty of clearance for air tools or what ever tools you want to use. I use the EZ to change blades on the Toro Z Master 48" which weighs about 200lbs more than the Freedom Z and my Grandstand both and have never had an issue. If you watch the TSC ads you can get them on sale occasionally for as little as $99 there $199 regular price from most any place else.
