Hello everybody. I've been on allot of forums, but I can honestly say that this is the first lawn mower forum I've ever been on. I just acquired a 1990 Murray Pro from my dad for free. He hasn't used it in about 7 years and I brought up the idea of building a race mower and he said I can have it. I haven't gotten to get it over to my house yet though. I will get it over here when I get it running again. I have a few pics of it I can post. Any advice/tips/tricks/hints are appreciated.

And cool mower! those older briggs engines are pretty bulletproof. clean the carb, do an oil change, and put some fresh gas AND BUY SOME SEAFOAM FOR IT! works great. also clean the spark plugs and when you take the plug out, pour a little seafom in the socket. it will free alot of stuff up like the pistons. just get it running and driving before you mess with pulleys and junk.

Thanks man. I'm gonna see what I can do with it next time I head out that way which will be in a couple weeks. I'm gonnna need to clean the fuel lines and tank as there is old gas still left in them which has turned into paint thinner.
