have a cub cadet rzts-50 model 17arcbdq010 right transmission works but does not want to operate as fast as left side have looked at control link appears to be ok, but during further investigating found that the left hand steering plate moves up and down where as the right hand steering plate has no up and down movement. they have grease fitting and it appears no grease in while, could the no movement in this steering plate effect the transmission or could it be a bent control link being bent

thanks

I had this exact problem on m RZT-50S. You have to remove the pedals the unbolt the cover plate at the base of the column. Once the plate is out of the way, turn the steering wheel and watch the "gear" half-moon bell crank gears on each side. One will likely move up and down more than the other.

The gears each pivot on a shoulder bolt that is attached to the floor plate. My left side gear actually came loose enough that it was binding the gear. Tighten both the shoulder bolts well on both gears and use some chain lube that will stick to the moving parts.

After that reassemble it and test drive. The steering may feel a little tighter, but that is normal.

Also, I think there is a site that sells an improved steering kit for these, but I have not found that link yet. If I do, I will attach it.
