My engine will not turn over,but the solonoid clicks. I had 12.36 volts on the battery. Same voltage when tested from battery to engine. Add 6 amp charger for a couple of minutes and it will turn over and start. Has been doing this since I bought it this fall. Haven't had a load test run on the battery yet.
Check the valve lash.
If it is too big then the compression release can not work and the starters fitted to mowers do not have the balls to push the engine through compression fast enough to generate enough of a spark to start the engine.
