How do I search for a replacement for my Sears/Craftsman engine. It runs but is very very underpowered. I purchased another vertical shaft engine but the mounting is different. Is there something in ordering a new engine that I should be specifying?

You can drill new holes in the deck.

(( racing is the only sport that you need two balls ))

I would but the deck on the old engine is flat to the deck. This new engine is about an inch deep and appears to need to sit into the deck with the bolts.

I'm guessing that there is no "deck type" that I should be looking for in a new engine. If there is, it might be easier to find a replacement regardless of brand.
