I have a Cub Cadet XT1 with extensive mouse damage to the console wiring harnesses. I would like to completely replace several wires which involves depinning the wire from the plug. However, nobody around here seems to know how to do this. I need to know (1) what brand and type of depinning tool I need for connectors, (2) where to buy the necessary tool (not Amazon), (3) what type of pins I need for the cub cadet plugs and where to get them, and (4) any particular tips for doing this (e.g. inserting the tool from the exterior or interior of the plug, removal of any clip or locking device from around the pins, etc.) Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Specialist electronics stores keep these tools and parts
Specialist automotive restoration tool suppliers also keep them like Eastwoods
To prevent a repeat performance, remove the hood & blower housing when you overwinter so there is no nice places for them to live .

The problem in the US there is no local store anymore that handles stuff like this. Mouser one place to get the connector housings and terminals but the tools themselves are just as cheap from Amazon when you throw in the shc. And you local GM dealer will be higher on the Aptiv tools and won't have the Molex tools.

For a DIYer it is just about as cheap to just replace the complete harness. Shops on the other hand has enough repeat repairs to justify the tools.
