I let mine go years ago as I got out of the armed security thing last time I did though it was a little under $80.

I guess that is one advantage we have in NY. Life time pistol permit.

Is a pistol permit the same as a concealed carry license?

Yes it is a concealed carry license.

Down here it is $10 per year. You can get it up to 5 years for $50.

Concealed is $25 a year you register your gun when you buy it

Okay, I have never gotten one. I will ask my friend that has one how much it is here.

I have a concealed weapon for my switchblade... I have taken years of knife fighting training. Lemme tell you I can prolly do more damage to someone with my knives than a gun lol especially throwing knives

Keeping a gun handy while youre out working may be a good idea. I sold a stick edger to a guy a while back. He mentioned that some thugs had stolen his loaded w/ equipment trailer and truck. Blocked him in at a stop sign and walked up on him asking for directions. Pulled a gun and told him to get out and leave the keys.
Thats a tricky situation tho. Pulling your gun everytime somebody approaches your vehicle isn't a good idea obviously. Most people are really going to be asking for directions... or maybe even trying to get lawn service.

There is a 8" hunting knife directly under my door handle not to mention my pruning saw and nippers ...

My friend told me it was $75 for 5 years here.
