red max back pack blower

my eb7001 blower ran great still today , found that it has a cracked piston below lower piston ring , what would cause this , blower serviced each season, 50/1 fuel mix. thanks, jim::frown:

You don't say how long you have had the blower. My first thought , but I am sure other things could cause it to, was a casing flaw in the piston that didn't fail immediately.
