Need more information. Model number of engine, more details in general.
Kohler 7000 series 26 hp, thought it was bad gas but I pumped it out and put in fresh gas, before all this I could cut my yard on one tank, it now takes over 2 when it's running, takes forever to restart after it runs out of gas

First thought is hole in fuel line leaking gas and/or sucking air into the line. Second thought is to check the oil to make sure it isn't leaking into the crankcase from a faulty fuel pump. I would think if it was burning all that extra fuel it would be running rough and blowing lots of black smoke.
