Question About The Tensioner Spring Attachment On A 48" Mower Deck Off Of A JD 140
Hello:
I am rebuilding a 48" mower deck off a JD 140 tractor. The spring that keeps tension on the arm and tensioner pulley (I'm talking about the blade belt, not the mule drive) attaches to the arm, of course, and then it attaches to the deck spindle area opposite the discharge shoot. My question is, is there a special clip to attach the spring to or does it attach to the spindle mounting bolt somehow? I can see the wear pattern on the metal deck where the spring lies, but I don't see an attachment point. A schematic or part # would help. I have a picture of how the belt that connects all the blades runs, and I see the spring in the picture, but it is not detailed enough for me to see the apparatus to attach it to. Thank you for any insight.
