Pushmower Maintenance

OK, I do own a Scott's Push Reel Mower. I use it every now and then when I want to cut a small part of the yard on the side of my house. It usually works pretty good for me, but lately it seems like the blades are getting dull. Is there a way to sharpen them?

Manny..
If the reel is not too dull you can use a paste grinding compound and lap the edge in on the bed knife... if there are dings in the cutting edges or the edge is really rounded then you will have to use a proper grinder made specifically for this... some of the later made reels were made so the reel can be removed and placed on a lathe to turn cut all the edges at once...
The bed knife is adjustable and often times reversible giving you a second edge... :smile:KennyV
