problem with engine locking up with ignition lock

What is this, an MTD pushmower? We will need the numbers off of the engine, and a little bit more of an explanation of what you mean.
 
Troy Bilt 12A-446A711 self propelled engine. Engine starts runs for a few minutes then stops completely. When you try to pull on pull cord will not pull as if engine seized. pull spark plug and rotate blade and you get ability to pull cord but very hard to pull. Believe that this is the ignition lock kicking in. My question is where is the spec to adjust the spring that controls this or other things I can check to see why seldom run mower will not run continuously.
 
There is nothing about this that is a real issue...... The model number you put up is MTD. What is the engine????
 
THanks for the help it was the ignition lock shorting out as it was bent and so close as it ran it vibrated and touched. Simple adjustment and runs fine now.
