No garden this year. In my lifetime I've fed dogs, cats, cows, calves, and hogs but I AIN'T feeding grass hoppers again this year.

To cut way down on grasshoppers ... you need some Chickens, guinea fowl and geese... You will have to fence your garden to keep the bug eaters out, but they will prevent grasshoppers from getting to your garden... :smile:KennyV

I failed to list chickens in the original feed list but I've been the chicken route and raised one of the fattest coyote pup litters in the county more than once . So that warrants a double garden fence ( moat for the chicken run ) or free range dogs that don't set well with neighbors . It's looking more undesirable and probably not going to happen .

Boy, gardeners sure take a beating with all kinds of disasters. Animals, insects, diseases, to name a few.
Tough to be a farmer these days!!
