So I have a PB 251 blower here and wondering where I should be on compression. This machine doesn't run and I have about 80LBs of compression. I think the spark is weak as well. I'm thinking this is a candidate for the junk pile but wanted to verify.

I did a new spark plug, new carb and fuel filter but still no joy. Not sure if it's relevant but my spark light fires very weak. So I tried one of those open spark testers with where you can adjust the gap. At about 3/16 inch, the spark is kind of intermittent and when it does fire, it appears weak. I thought it should at least cough or fire off once or twice but nothing. I took off the coil and it had a lot of corrosive build up so I cleaned it with some emery cloth but that didn't help.

My fuel is new and of a higher grade, not the highest though. Maybe I should try to squirt some mix down the throat to completely rule out fuel though. I tested the fuel system and fuel is moving through the lines into the carb.

After my initial post I inspected the piston through the exhaust and intake ports. It looked ok. I also looked down in there with a borescope. Nothing jumped out at me as being too bad. But since 80lb should be ok, I guess I'll focus on fuel for now. Thanks
