I have a craftsman CMXGRAM1130045 riding mower. The electric PTO is making a loud noise when not engaged. I have been told it is a bad lower bearing. My question is it practical to replace the bearing or should I replace the entire PTO? The Craftsman prart is 91705209. I have found the same part number at a cheaper price but it is listed for a Cub Cadet. Since it the same part number will it interchange? Thanks.

Yes it is the same PTO clutch. The Craftsman given is built by MTD and actually sold by them under model number 13AQA1ZQ093 (T260). You can use a Xtreme X0726 clutch to replace it which might save you even more.

As for the bearing most are not replaceable due the way they are installed.

I have also found cases where the bearing is not dimensionally correct for that number of bearings. Meaning a bearing marked 6305 normally has a standard dimension, but on electric clutches the ID may be a couple thousands larger than the standard, and will result in a damaged bearing if you try to install it even though the bearing that was removed says 6305 on the seal for example.

Are you sure it is 6305-2RS or 6205-2RS and not a 6205-2RS 1" as a 6205 and a 6205-1" are different bearings? The OD of 6305 is 62mm and the 6205 has an OD of 52mm. Most PTO bearings are either 1" or 1-1/8"(43mm). Of course the 43mm bearings is another story as I would need to look around for a clutch with these.

@StarTech Was just using the 6205 an example, but what I have is the OD is standard and the ID on the standard bearing is .004 smaller than the ID of the bearing that is removed.

That what I was getting out as the 6205-2RS bearings all have same 2RS shield if they are like the ones I have here but my bearing supplier has the 6205-1-2RS (6205-2RS 1") marked on the inner bearing. These do fit the 1" crankshaft of the Kohler engines. My non digital caliper measures it dead on 1 inch as where the digital is just sly of 1 inch. Of course HFT stuff in not that accurate in the first place. Just close enough for rough measurements.

And there is 66/25.5 Bearing 25.5x52x15mm that would have the same RS shield probably. Now it is .004 larger than the 1 inch version. Now my US bearing supplier don't carry this size, it has to be gotten out of China.
