I have a scag 48’ with a Kawasaki fc420v. There is a small hole that is squirting out fuel when engine is running. There is a picture attached below but I can’t figure out what it is

There should be a screw that threads in horizontally and blocks that hole.
Yet it does not thread into that hole.

Yes there is a screw on the side, the engine was running poorly and I unscrewed 1/2 a turn and it ran nearly perfect. I know that hole is connected to the suction and air in the carb so could it be a air screw adjustment instead?

Hmmm, I've worked on that style carb a few times and it has never affected the running of the Engine.
I guess when someone who knows more than me answers, we'll both learn something

Could of been an incident then. I got the mower as flipper and this is the first night so I’ll tinker with the adjustment screws for the carb and screw in that other screw back to normal
