I would mow day before they park and two days after.

If you do not mow before they abuse you lawn then you will have grass laying down.

And it is easier to pick up all the trash they will leave in the yard if the grass is short.

thanks for the advice.

Don't water two days before hand. You want your soil as solid as possible to avoid rutting and water ASAP after so the grass has the energy to recover

Instruct everyone to park at the nearest train station and provide a shuttle service:0)

I heard that....the wife & I took an RV trip from Middle TN to Bar Harbor, Maine year before last just to get a good lobster. I had a 4 pounder that definitely made the trip worthwhile!!! While there and coming back down the East coast we had some of the best seafood we've ever had!!! I had always heard of Chespeake Bay oysters, but until I had some on the half shell and deep fried in Virginia Beach, VA I didn't know what I'd been missing:0)

Just charge them for parking. Then call a lawn service for your grass and use the parking fees to pay for it. If they get mad just tell them you only live once and everyone has to pay to play.

Even better where I live. I live in the region of maple syrup production. I just love pooring it on pancakes before work!
During the season of production, the grocery store has maple bagels, maple squares, maple pies, maple sticks, maple donuts and more maple stuff to feed you for days!

I second this if you really care about your lawn. If the soil is moist at all it may cost more just to repair the damage to the lawn.

Also depends on geography; our lawns here in Austin, TX can take a beating.

I love it here in Georgia but would like to go home to the cape for a few weeks. Maybe in September.

I love it here in NH it is beautiful in the summer but in the winter it is a different story. I should just go live in GA for the winter, bring my business with me. I'll go live at my great aunt and uncle's house, they live along the Flint River. I am always used to warm weather, I cant stand snow and cold weather, even though I make some coin through the winter snowblowing, plowing, sanding, etc.

Yeah that is what my great uncle told me. In Atlanta I think in January/February there was 2 inches of snow and everyone was sliding off the road the shut down the highway and people were stranded. The Salvation Army, Us Army, National Guard, the whole nine yards was there helping people out. Hope this winter won't be so cold as last winter.

LOL! 2 inches? We get sometimes a foot! I drive thru that with a 2wd Ranger drifiting all over town. The Army doesn't come out. People just live normal and drive slower.

You have to remember here in Atlanta the roads ice before the snow.
It was a mess I am 2 hours north of Atlanta The news said 1 inch if snow after 5pm
At noon time we had 4 inches and kids stuck at school no busses running we had to go pick then up.
The snow and ice stayed on my road for a week. No plows or sand trucks.
Heck we had fun with the mud mowers.

In Atlanta they put gravel on the road. Why I do not know.

I grew up driving in a couple feet if snow but down here it's ice.

Did they put gravel gravel on the road or just normal sand?

They just put gravel.

My lawyer was speaker of the house for ga at one time. I work for his dad for years dredging sand. Could never get them to use are sand instead of gravel.

Think about what happens when you put gravel on a iced over road.
Then you have to pay a company to remove all the gravel in the spring.
Buddy said it's all about kick backs.

Ahh I did not think of that!
Gravel on the road... What a mess in spring with all the dust and rocks flying around. Sand or dust (screening) is the best for ice.

I agree but all the sand is left on the road in the spring and the street cleaner will have to clear it.....

The sand will be gone by spring. The rain and the wind will wash it off the road.

My thinking is the gravel is just as bad as the ice.

On some roads up here in NH the winter sand is leftover on the road and the street cleaner trucks come and pick it up in the spring.
