what do you do when this happens and you're trying to disassemble the carb to clean it?

I don't start cleaning a carb without a carb rebuild kit.

All of the gaskets should be replaced any time you disassembly a carb for cleaning.

Hmmmm, I'm not even sure what make of carb this is. It doesn't seem to have any identification markings on it. The Engine is a Kawasaki FX850V--do they make their own carbs or source them from different suppliers?

Edit: OK, all it took was a little searching. I ordered the replacement gaskets.
