does anyone know who purchased the company that carried the optimol 4 and 2 cycle oil that was the best oil i ever used i thought i had found but the company web site has been under const for almost a year no one here has a clue it was reel big in the 80's when we raced thanks.

Nope don't know who bought them but you can probably still find some in old stock under the private label brands. They did Echo and Snapper for a while, not sure about others.
