I just acquired a model HRR2162SDA , serial # MZCG6964630 , that would not start. Will start with squirt of starter fluid . I think this is from 2002 . In parts schematics I can not find the wax autochoke. Is this because the early models were manual choke ? Any thoughts on the older models ? Thanks
If the throttle control has a choke position, or there's a choke lever on the engine it does not have auto choke. If it fires on the starter fluid then you likely have to clean the carb and/or have a blocked fuel line. They are fairly easy to clean and probably several YT videos available on how to do it. Just search for how to clean a Honda mower carburetor.
