Hi guys. New here with a problem. My 2006 Snapper RER series 23 was a craigslist find that had a rusted out mower deck. I replaced the mower deck from Clist, put new driven disc on, and started mowing. The belt began to smoke and after about 15 minutes of mowing, the new belt I had put on disintegrated into shreds. When I drove it into my gargage to park it, a pool of oil formed under the drivers right rear wheel just off center and near the transmission (looks like about 6-8 ounces). What do you guys think this is? Crankcase seal or something worse. I checked oil level and its only down about halfway between full and add on the stick (it was at the FULL mark). I also added gear oil to the transmission and when I removed one of the plugs it probably is leaking a little from that, but a 6-8oz leak? Help anyone?

Yes thanks I realized I needed Snapper 00 special grease. I ordered new grease plugs so I can change out the gear oil to the grease. I am probably going to pull the motor so I can thoroughly inspect it. Pretty much gotta be blown motor or blown crankcase seal. I can't seem to find the source of the dripping yet....the drive disc feels dry when I feel above the clutch/driven disc so Im worried Ive ruined the motor. Yes the smaller pulley had bad bearings and Ive already swapped it out. But I may have killed my motor in the process. I need to diagnose the issue, and if its the motor, I am determined to replace the motor if needed. Kind of a matter of principle now with me....I dont want to get rid of the mower now, I kind of bonded with it. LOL
