oil leak near exhaust

I have a 13 hp simplicity coronet. There seems to be an oil leak near the exhaust. I have been told that it may be a crankcase ventilation valve?

Any ideas before I begin taking stuff off ?

Post simplicity model number as well as all numbers from engine and engine manufacturer. Is engine using or burning oil, are you having to add oil?
