I have a Troy-Bilt push mower with a Honda 160cm3 engine that is leaking oil down the left side of the engine. I have circled in red the area the oil is coming from. Any help on how to solve this would be appreciated.

Thanks

That is the crankcase vent.
Oily fume comes out of there.
Excessive amounts of oil is causes by a blown head gasket or worn rings.
Simple check for blown head gasket is too run engine for 10 minutes, shut it down then undo the dip stick.
If smoke comes out gasket is gone.

If you tipped the engine sideways oil comes out of the breather.
If you have overfilled the engine oil comes out of the breather.

Bertsmobile1 - Thanks for the quick reply. I have a feeling I overfilled the oil so I will empty the oil and refill it and see if that makes a difference.

Use the dip stick to determine the oil level.
If you just pour in the "text book" oil capacity you will end up over filling because you can never drain 100% of the oil out.

Quick note to clarify:
Honda GCV160 does not utilize a head gasket.

Thanks for you help I think that is where I went wrong when I screwed in the dip stick all of the way to measure the oil level. All is good now. No leaks and no smoking.
