What a maroon! I tilted my HRX217K6VKA at about a 120 degree angle over the front wheels to lubricate the rear wheel height adjusters. Looked like a great idea until oil started dripping out of the air filter housing. I'm not sure how that happened, but what to do now? Would taking out the spark plug and pulling the start rope a few times be sufficient?

Some times
It is a good place to start.
Replacing the air filter would be a good idea
The carb has a drain bolt in the float bowl so undo that and see what comes out .

Don't worry you're the not the first one. I did it once myself through the school of hard knocks.

Is it hydro locked (can't pull the starter rope)? If so remove the plug and try to get as much oil out as possible by repeatedly pulling the rope and clean the plug while it's out. If not just try starting it and see if it starts. It'll smoke lots until the oil is burned off.

I pulled the starter rope with the spark plug disconnected and there was no resistance. I connected the plug and pulled the rope. A burst of smoke then it runs fine. Thanks for your help.
