It will run like normal with the kill wire off, but make sure you have a way to shut the engine down.Removing the coils kill wire provided spark an she cranked up.
How long can I continue w/ this kill wire disconnected? Like is part of the coil failing?

I cannot advise bypassing anything safety related. To truly resolve this problem, the key switch and all safety switches need to be checked. The wiring on these mowers is pretty simple.
This is a newer model Snapper than the one I have, so it likely has the little "magic" safety interlock box hidden near the battery area. A seat switch, a brake switch, a deck engage switch and even a deck chute safety switch are fairly normal on these
