Newly acquired John Deere GT262 with Kawasaki 17hp. Did not know if it ran or not. Here is what I have done so far.
Has spark
Fuel pump works
Fuel in carb bowl and solenoid functions
Has compression
Will not start with fuel poured into carb.
Anything I am missing or should try? Any help would be appreciated.
A really easy thing to try might be a new spark plug. I've had plugs fire "on the outside", and not work when installed. Exactly the why, I don't know.:ashamed:

try starting fluid....if it starts ...you have a fuel issue........by the way....how did you test spark?
Last night I replaced the spark plug and cleaned the carb. Found an acorn shell in it. Flushed the tank and after about 2 minutes of started fluid it is now running. Thanks for the suggestions.
