Hey guys im new here. My wife and I just moved to a place with 2-3 acres mow-able. My dad a couple years back gave me his 1993 dixon zt with the old cone drive system and she is getting tired and the deck is rotting and it takes a good 1.5hours. My wife is the kind of person that buys right and buys once, I prefer the tinker and create method. But this time I think she has won. So I started looking at the John Deere zt445 and the Kubota ZG127s both in the $5,000 range. Then I found out Kubota has a 48mo 0% apr and $0 down..... So I have been entertaining the idea of getting a Kubota ZG227.... for a hefty $9,800. Also I have a JD and Kubota dealership in my town.

If you want to pretend your a farmer or just want to tell people you have a green mower then get the John Deere
If you want a good built mower that will last and do the job every time you need it to then get the kubota.

I believe kubota is worth every penny you pay for it

LOL techincally I am a hobby farmer, we have ( 3 alpacas and 2 pygora fiber goats and a a dozen chickens)

Im not brand specific  I own a
2005 John Deere 790 with a loader, 3pt blower and box blade
1970's Case 446 that I put a Lombardini Diesel in
1950 Farmall Cub
1993 Dixon.

Oh and I have a Kubota D600 diesel sitting on my shop floor  that I bought for a mini pullling tractor that I never ended up building. And that engine if im not mistaken is a direct swap for the horizontal Kubota Gas engine.

The only negative thing I have heard about the Kubotas is the decks dont float like other models.

I don't dislike all JDs just the mowers.
My only JDs are yellow

Stick to the Kubota and you'll have a unit you'll be able to pass down to some lucky relative.

Thanks rivets can't give you a thumbs up because I'm typing from my phone. I started a thread with a better title and description http://www.lawnmowerforum.com/mower...ubota-zg227-vs-ferris-is2000z.html#post112684
