Said I was new to this, didn't I. Anyway, trying to figure out how to fill the transmission, with both Hydrostatic(?) fluid and transmission fluid. I have 80/90 fluid, but I'm not sure where to put it in. There is a rubber plug and an earlier thread mentioned filling at the 5" rubber hose. I'm certain someone has more answers than I have questions, and I am all ears. What fluid is used for the Hydrostatic side?

Do you have the transmission out of the mower? Mine is a 2000 series but probably similar. I take it out, drain the gear box, flush with kerosene, refill with the gear lube through the hole where that vent hose is. Mine gets full of aluminum particles from the ring gear riding on the case and wearing it. I haven't touched the hydraulic unit so far. Transmission works fine but seems to be pretty cheaply made - but at least the differential gear part is separate from the hydraulics.

I filled the box with gear oil through the rubber plug, the side with the hose was almost full already. Guess I may have messed up. There is a link to the manual, but I haven't figured out how to identify the designation in the manual.

Take a picture and post it we will be able to tell which one it is.

I hope the pictures come through. Hard to figure out how to get them from the Phone into the Forum.

Shouldn't those number ID it for me? But it is a Hydrostatic and the book shows a 600 as a transaxle?
