I live in west Texas,am a retired truck mechanic and driver.I have a 5 year old L 120 John Deere and push mower.The 120 transmission is starting to slip.Trying to decide what to do with it.Has about 80hrs.

Welcome to the forum. I had 25 years of being a truck mechanic never a driver. Now I am retired I have a small part time small equipment and motorcycle repair shop in my garage. It,s nice to get away from the bull work. Something for you to think about to keep you busy now your retired.
