I just bought a new John Deere z975 zero turn. I have used it about 4 times. Today I shut it off but now it won’t start. I wanted to get some advice or ideas on what to check before I have to haul it to the dealership in Monday.

Here are the details.
Battery is confirmed good
Steering handles fully out
Confirmed mowing knob disengaged
Confirmed parking brake on
Confirmed seat switch okay (butt in seat)
Battery terminals fine
Fuses are fine
Yes it has fuel.

When I turn the key on ….the Electronic guage comes on (no codes or warnings) but when I turn the key fully clockwise to start ….it does nothing. Motor doesn’t turn over… no clicking noises from starter/ solenoid.

Well you must use a multi meter and actually the safety switches. But I suspect the ECU has a failure as they are know to have failures. I have had to bypasses on these ECUs over the last five years. Otherwords the switch inputs must verified at the ECU and the outputs must be tested for. IF all the inputs are present and no output then the ECU has failed. The lap bars have no safety switches. It just the brake, seat, and PTO switches.

Being nearly release model, I don't have a Z975M service manual at hand but they apparently changed the name of the ECU module to Monitor/Display unit. And it is over $200 to purchase.

As said carry it back during the warranty period and let a JD tech pull his hair out.
