Blaz, stop for a second and have a think about it.
How the hell do you service the mower if you can not start it without a bum on the seat ?
And then most dangerous place to be running a mower with the seat switch bypassed is in a service bay where the tech will be anywhere except in the drivers seat.
The seat switch is not in the starting circuit on any mower and will not be till the computer controlled fuel injected ones come out a bit later on.
The seat switch is in the safety circuit so the mower will not drive nor engage the blades without a bum on the seat and shortly the bum will have to be over 30 Kg ( 65 lbs) so children can not drive away on a mower.
Earth moving machines down here are currently being fitted with weight sensitive seats to stop kids joyriding in them on weekends when they are left on site.
I checked fuse , good
I checked both switches for park ,good
tried bypass seat sensor , no change
its weird..checked power to starter solenoid when turin g key to start , getting power
if I jump solenoid , motor turns over. I think its a safety thing?
I just bought it new , two weeks ago..i just think its something simple..
So he has a 4 pole solenoid and the safety
GROUND circuits are preventing the solenoid from energizing by not grounding the trigger.
Page 30 on the owners manual shows very clearly the
GROUND connection to the 4 pole starter solenoid passing through both lap bar switches then through the ( unnamed ) parking brake switch and finally to the
GROUND terminal on the starter solenoid.
Now if Cableguy is still hanging around, he can verify this by hooking up a patch lead from any grounding point to the ground terminal on the solenoid ( the black wire ) which he should be able to find easily as he has already verified that the yellow wire is getting 12 V like it should.
Then he can work backwards to find which switch is not working or which ground wire is not making proper contact.
