When I first bought Greenworks cordless electric tools with Li-Ion batteries, the warranty policy was 4 years on tools and 2 years on batteries. Recently, I bought some new Greenworks 60 volt tools and batteries, and discovered that the warranty policy had changed to 4 years on both the tools and batteries. This is a major improvement, and brings the Greenworks warranty for batteries more in line with other brands. Upon further investigation on the Greenworks website it appears that the warranty terms for other voltages has changed as well. The warranty for 24 volt and 40 volt tools is now 3 years on both the tools and batteries, and for the 80 volt tools is 4 years on both the tools and batteries. Although the tool warranty has been reduced for 24 volt and 40 volt tools, more importantly it has been increased for batteries, which are far more like to fail during the warranty period. The warranty for corded electric tools is 3 years. It is notable that the warranty is better for 60 and 80 volt tools than for 24 and 40 volt tools, suggesting that they are expected to be more durable products than the less expensive 24 and 40 volt tools.
