I decided to hire an extra person to have more help during the week. I am just not sure how to make this work correctly. She is ready to work and never argues with me. Always on time. Problem is that she still needs to learn some things. She can use the Exmark 30" just fine (except on steep hills) and she can do some good lines. With some practice she will get better. I just don't know how to make her use a trimmer quickly. She is rather slow on the trimmer. Any tips or tricks on how to make her better and faster? Also explaining her how to blow correctly.

Here is a picture of her work. Not too bad if you ask me.

Focus on quality speed will come in time

You said it right in your very own posting !! ( with some practice she will get better ) so..... let her follow you around and let her watch you AS you EXPLAIN ( nicely) how to tilt the trim-head not to sling the grass into the flower beds , stay back from above ground sprinklers and like items if you're satified with her work so far , cut her slack and realize some people CAN'T do it all but but may be really good with some other aspects of the job, maybe she's good at making sure everything is refueled , full of oil ... how about the truck and trailer tires checked , those fluids checked , tools all accounted for and put away , is water cooler full and iced etc . don't forget all those incidentals that are part of the whole job and finally ......... don't judge her by what YOU can do ( or others ) and a little praise now and then goes a hell of a long way ! In the end , I'm sure if she's trying ..... everything will fall into place as it should ...... I wish you and her the best ....... Boobala ...:thumbsup:

And if she is a "normal" height & weight woman you might need to get her a different trimmer, a full H harness and move the clip on the trimmer.
I use a strait shaft trimmer, my wife finds it too heavy and too long so she has her own bent shaft trimmer with an extra short shaft,
With that she can trim all day just as fast as me but with the Sthil she is knackered after about 10 minutes.
I wear the standard sling harness but she has those brest type things which made the sling uncomfortable however the H harness works really well.
I think it was actually an arbourist harness but she loves it so much she has repaired it at least a dozen times.

Exactly, curved shaft and if she be attractive with all her other attributes give her a chance to pick up the pace. If she be really attractive give her a long long time to get the hang of it.:laughing:

@Bert: she is very short (5'). I have a feeling the KM90 is too long for her. I could see if she would like a curved shaft trimmer.

If it is any help look at it like this,
imagine the trimmer has a solid blade on the end.
To cut properly it needs to be level or slightly dipped at the front.
put your trimmer on the ground and lift the engine end till the head is in the level with the ground position
in that position the pivot point should be at waist height.
When clipped into the harness the trimmer head should hovers about 1" to 3" off the ground so when you are working you are not fighting the machine.
