The entire motor is only about an inch tall and produces very little heat. After brush cutting my back creekbed for a good half hour, I could still hold my hand on the motor.
Its brushless and replaces the traditional copper coil windings with a printed circuit board etched in a radial pattern between two magnets with a drive shaft through the middle. It produces amazingly impressive torque. The CORE folks say its 25% more powerful than a 25cc two stroke engine. That would put it around the power of a 31cc gas two stroke. I have a 31cc Ryobi that's currently suffering from carb issues. The Ryobi was a monster but I can truthfully say, the CORE is cutting through the same material without fail.
