I just picked up a John Deere STX 38 for $100. it was missing a hood and had been engineered alot. After a few hours and downloading the Kohler Manual it is back to normal and running great. I fabricated a hood from a MTD hood. My question is did I get a good deal. Thank you very much for your input

I think you got a fairly good deal....but it really depends on what shape it was in (other than the hood).

besides the hood it is in excellent condition, the rear tires are both brand new. I use the mower to pull a dump cart for landscaping and wood removal and havent had any issues with it.
