New A21A42 - won't start while I'm sitting on it...

I recently purchased an Ariens A21A42 mower with a 19HP Briggs and Stratton engine. It seems to only start when I am not seated on the seat. I understand there's a presence sensor, but it won't even crank when I'm sitting on it and try to start.

I can only start the engine when I'm not sitting on it and using my foot to push down the brake entirely, but then if I release the brake before I am sitting on the seat it stalls out.

Anyone have any advice??

kind of seems like the switch is a dual contact that's wired backwards.

Hi thanks for the quick reply! Screen Shot 2015-05-23 at 8.09.12 PM.png

It seems like it can only be plugged in one way based on the connector. Any advice on what I can do to try to fix this? Disable the seat switch?

I did find a great solution! Returned the mower to home depot and they gave me a John Deere d105 for the same price. .
