Anyone experiencing this rain? We got over 6 inches of rain IN THE PAST 24 HOURS, and it started longer than that ago (night of Wed. into Thursday). It is expected to rain through the weekend! How much are we going to get?? There is tons of flooding...here are some pics of the nor' easter:

Yeah,I'm hoping this doesn't end up like a couple years ago with all the flooding around here. We had just moved into our first house a month or so before and it left us with a foot and a half of water in our basement, just missed killing our new washer and dryer. Some people near the center of our town had water in their basements almost up to the floor joists of their 1st floors and were pumping water out for days. My buddy just built his house and had seeded probably 1 1/2 to 2 acres of lawn and even rented a bale chopper and blew straw over the whole thing, and its all washing away now. He looked sick:frown:

I would like to say I feel bad for you but we had 2 weekends out of 4 months that it did not rain. 26 days straight with rain.

Now it is so dry I wish it would rain.
Was a cool summer never got over 95 grass was growing 6 inches in ten days.

We might get 2 inches of snow this year and be snowed in for a week. Ha ha

Try moving to Florida, 2 and 3" an hour is not unusual. Ever see horizontal rain, that's fun.

Yeah that would not be fun! But scenes like this aren't either. We are up to around 9 inches now.

I've lived in Georgia 39 years and I've never seen a summer like we just had. I call it a monsoon season. It was good if you really like to mow and don't mind mowing in the wet.

I mowed so many times in the rain I forgot how to cut dry grass.
Man it sure has been nice this week nice cool night and warm days. I bet we get some snow this winter like back in 93

The last time we had rain that bad a house, and cars where floating down the interstate. LF you might have to get you a wet suit, and some flippers.

It would have helped on a lawn I did today!

thats about 10mins. up the road from from me:wink: When we had the flood a couple years ago, the buffalo in their zoo drowned. Everyone threw a big fit over the park letting them drown, but I don't think people understand the logistics of trying to get a crane in there to lift them out in time. I don't know if getting a crane in there was even possible. it wasn't like they could have just hearded them out. I don't think anyone was prepared for that much rain.

Yeah it was a lot of rain. But the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee in 2011 were way worse as far as rainfall. That whole year was bad for the rain in Central PA. It was the only time in 11 years of being in our old house that we had water in the basement and a sewer backup from all the rain. It was a bad year for flooding and TS Lee killed the area as far as rain. I've got pics of couches (it hit day before trash day) and garbage flowing down the street we used to live on. The road was almost cresting the curb in places and our backyards had ponds.

I work in Hershey (not for Hershey) and the flooding was insane during Lee. I was not in the office but from seeing the pics from those that were as well as the news reports, you cannot imagine the damage. It truly was a 100 year flood event. The Swatara Creek had never been at those levels since we started keeping records. Dauphin County got some insane amount of rain (I want to say close to 20 inches) during that storm!

Yep, that was worse here, too. We got just under a foot of rain.

Yeah, I thought I had a picture from that May2010 flood in Tennessee where the portable building from that church near Mills Creek was floating down I-24. Can't find it though, but am attaching a picture from inside Opryland Hotel that got devastated from that incident.
